A Fourth of July family barbecue was interrupted Friday, when members of the Anchorage Police Department showed up, appearing in full riot gear. The Anchorage Police arrived to the barbecue in response to a neighbor’s complaint. The officers gained control by subduing one family member with a taser, and six others using brute force. No officers were injured, but some family members sustained minor injuries. The cause of the violence is still under investigation, but alcohol and burnt hamburgers are said to be factors.
